Active Highs offer kayaking and canoeing near Fort William and Fort Augustus on Loch Oich which is part of the Great Glen Canoe Trail. Canoeing & kayaking are a great fun way to enjoy the water. Kayaking involves sitting inside a closed cockpit boat and using a double ended paddle to control the boat. Canoeing involves sitting or kneeling in an open canoe that are also known as Canadian canoes and using a single ended paddle to control the boat. All of our instructors are experienced kayakers and have been paddling since they were kids and now enjoy coaching as well as white water or sea kayaking.
