So What is Canyoning?
Canyoning in Scotland is one of the most fun, adventurous and exciting things that you can do on your trip to the Highlands. Canyoning is a fast growing adrenaline filled adventure sport that was originally developed in Alpine areas of Europe and the canyon lands of America. Canyoning or canyoneering as some call it is a method of descending a deep watercourse, or river bed in a deep gorge. Canyoning trips normally involve using jumping techniques, rope work, abseiling over waterfalls, scrambling up and over rocks, swimming through pools & sliding down smooth flumes carved out by mother nature over thousands of years.
Scotland has become a major destination for canyoning over the last 10 years and is full of fantastic venues to explore for this exciting & developing adventure sport. So come along, put on your wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet & harness, hike up the hill side and jump on in with Active Highs!
